PRO FOOTBALL'S ULTIMATE FAN ASSOCIATION

RING OF HONOR MEMBER

AWARDED POSTHUMOUSLY

Harry Troutt was inducted into our organization in the Class of 2003, was honored by the "Visa Hall of Fans" as the San Francisco 49ers Ultimate Fan of 2002, and was inducted into the Pro Football's Ultimate Fan Association "Ring of Honor" in 2013.

Through 50 faithful years, players and coaches and others throughout the San Francisco 49ers organization came to treat Troutt and Kitten as family.  Harry and Kitten eye-witnessed all five Super Bowl victories, he served for 30 years as president of a San Francisco 49ers Boosters Club, and he dressed himself and his Santa Rosa home in red and gold.  Through those five decades, Harry and Kitten never missed a game.

Harry and Kitten Troutt's penthouse apartment in the Richmond District had a panoramic view of San Francisco.  It also was a home-away-from-home for many of the 49ers' players.  In the early 1980's, the entire secondary - Ronnie Lott, Eric Wright, Dwight Hicks and Carlton Williamson - would arrive together and would live most of the season with the Troutts.  They knew the 49ers couldn't have more avid fans  or family than the Troutts.

Harry and Kitten were always together.  Even until the very end, Kitten was next to Harry through every step.  Unfortunately, Harry left us on July 11, 2013 of cardiac arrest at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He was 77.

In 2007 and 2010, Harry was awarded with the Jason “Beardown J” Carlson Courage Award for his courage in battling diabetes and dialysis.  Though stricken and limited extensively on his physical abilities, Harry and Kitten would always show up in August at our annual reunions.

"We all loved him," Hall of Fame offensive tackle Bob St. Clair said.  "We'd always go over to his house after the games.  If we won, we'd celebrate.  If we lost, we'd drink our sorrows."
