PRO FOOTBALL'S ULTIMATE FAN ASSOCIATION
RING OF HONOR MEMBER
AWARDED AS ACTIVE MEMBER OF ORGANIZATION
Karl Sides (Ram Man) was inducted into our organization in the Class of 2004, was honored by the "Visa Hall of Fans" as the St. Louis Rams Ultimate Fan of 2003, and was inducted into the Pro Football's Ultimate Fan Association "Ring of Honor" in 2020. He is the second living member to receive this honor.
Karl has served our organization with distinction and held three (3) of our five (5) Officer positions. He is the longest serving President and held this office for six (6) years. He served as Candice’s Vice President, and when she could not attend the reunion (due to her health), Karl stepped in and ran the reunion as Acting President. Most recently, Karl stepped into the breach once again when our Membership Officer could not continue his term. Karl is currently serving in this office. Karl has also served on numerous committees such as: Reunion, Charity, and Membership.
While serving as President, Karl’s leadership and guidance enabled PFUFA to:
- Raised over $80,000 for the J. Babe Stern Center (our adopted charity)
- Enabled the Babe to create, funded, and equipped the PFUFA Learning Center
- Maintained and mature a solid relationship with six (6) sponsors
- Maintained an outstanding relationship with the Hall of Fame and their leadership
- Rebuilt the relationship with the Chamber of Commerce in Canton
- Create the Golden Hog Award for charitable contributions
- Adopted the Ronald McDonald House as an official PFUFA Charity
- Contribute to the 2016 Documentary Film by Grayson Berry, “25,000 Miles to Glory” that featured PFUFA
- Establish copyright of PFUFA intellectual property and pursue infringements by other organizations.
- Renamed the President’s Award.
- Created the MVPs and the additional schedule for the spouses and guest at the reunion.
Karl received the Tommy Nola “Bellringer Friendship Award" in 2010. He has never missed a year in paying dues, is a Lifetime Member, and has been active for 17 years. When Karl’s team left his city, he did not publicly bad-mouth them and remained loyal. He even attends games in L.A. Karl has shown extensive leadership in the drafting of the Rams members and has also assisted (at times) with the Chargers drafting.
Karl has given so much of himself to this organization, and his record above reads like a checklist for the Ring of Honor. Congratulations, Ram Man!!
